  • When Will I See the Results After Having Laser Hair Removal?

Results from laser hair removal typically become noticeable a few days post-treatment, although individual experiences may vary. Since hair growth occurs in cycles, the timing of your treatment relative to these cycles will influence the reduction in hair regrowth observed after each session.

  • How Many Laser Hair Removal Sessions Will I Need?

On average, clients require between 8 and 12 laser hair removal sessions, which are scheduled 3 to 8 weeks apart, to achieve long-lasting results.

  • How Does Microneedling Work?

Microneedling operates by inducing micro injuries to the dermis, prompting the body to generate new, collagen-rich tissue. This rejuvenation process, which can span 3 to 6 months, leads to skin that appears smoother and more uniform, with minimal downtime associated.

  • Why Are Facials So Important?

Regular facials play a crucial role in skincare by eliminating dead skin cells and revitalizing the underlying skin, thereby promoting a healthier, more vibrant complexion.

  • What is a IPL laser treatment?

An IPL (Intense pulse light), is a light based treatment, that evens out the complexion, and reduces the appearance of sun damage, hyperpigmentation and redness.

  • How long does IPL laser treatment take?

The exact time depends on the area that is being treated; However, typically it takes from 30 minutes to an hour.

  • Does an IPL laser hurt?

The IPL is not considered a painful treatment, and is very tolerable. During treatment, you may experience very mild pinch and heat.

  • When will I begin to see results after an IPL treatment?

Patients will begin to see results 5-7 days after an IPL laser treatment. Full results can be seen after two weeks.

  • How long do results from an IPL treatment last?

Improvements from an IPL treatment can be seen after the 1st treatment and we recommend a protocol of 3 treatments 4-6 weeks apart for the best results.. Results can be prolonged with diligent use of SPF+, ensuring that sun exposure if avoided and with the correct at home skincare maintenance as well as additional IPl annually.

  • What areas can I treat with the IPL laser treatment?

The IPL laser can essentially be used on any part of the body. The most popular areas to treat with the IPL laser are the face, neck, chest, arms and hands.

  • Is there any downtime associated with an IPL laser treatment?

There is technically no downtime required after a IPL treatment. You may wear makeup immediately after treatment, and can resume normal activities. After your treatment, you may appear slightly red, similar to a sunburn. Any hyper-pigmentation that you currently have, will begin to darken, and eventually take on the appearance of “coffee grounds”. These “Coffee grounds” will begin to slough off as the skin heals.

  • Are there any side effects or possible risks to an IPL treatment?

Like any medical procedure, there are risks associated with an IPL laser treatment. During your consultation your provider will make an assessment to ensure that you are the right candidate for an IPL laser treatment. If you experience any worrisome side effects after and IPL treatment, please call the practice immediately.

  • Who is NOT a candidate for IPL laser?

An IPL laser treatment may not be safe for those with certain health problems. An IPL is not recommended for patients who are currently takin Accutane. Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding are not a candidate for Micro-needling. Patients with darker skin tones are not a candidate for an IPL laser treatment.

  • What is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is a procedure which removes hair from the body utilizing a long pulse laser. Laser hair removal lasers have been in use since 1997. The treatment is performed by a state licensed laser specialist by pointing the laser device at shaved skin. Laser heat disables follicles from producing hair. Hair grows in cycles. Since various hairs will enter their growth cycle at different times, about 6-8 treatments at intervals of 12 weeks and 4-6 weeks on the face, are necessary to disable most of the follicles in a given area.

  • Am I a Candidate for Laser Hair Removal?

Both men and women seek laser hair removal to remove unwanted hair. Hair removal is commonly done on underarm, pubic area, legs, abdomen, lip, chin, back, buttocks, thighs, face, neck, chest, arms, and toes. Laser technology works by targeting dark pigment. Therefore, it works best on pale skin and dark coarse hair. The lighter the skin and the darker and more coarse the hair, the better are the results. The best candidates are patients treating areas with dark coarse dense hair growth.

  • Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?

Yes- We permanently disable any and all active actively growing hair during treatments. However, hormonal and chemical changes in the body can potentially activate dormant follicles causing brand new hair to grow.

  • Is Laser Hair Removal Painful?

There is a slight discomfort in laser hair removal. The laser is pulsed in milliseconds, so the discomfort is felt in milliseconds with no lingering feeling. So once the pulse is done, it's done!  The larger and thicker the hair the more the patient will feel due to a larger target. As you go through your treatments you will have less hair..less discomfort.

  • What Should I Expect Before and After a Laser Treatment?

Patients should not wax, epilate, or remove hair with the root using any other hair removal method for at least 6 weeks prior to their first session and throughout their course of treatments. The hair needs to be in place in order to be targeted by laser as laser devices targets the pigment in the hair.

The area to be treated should be shaved 1-2 days prior to treatments so that the energy is targeted towards the hair follicle and not wasted it on the hair above the skin’s surface. Treating unshaved skin can result in burning of the skin by singed hairs.

All hair should shed within 3 weeks* following the treatment. Sometimes, shedding doesn’t start until about 10 days after the session. During the shedding phase, hair may look like it’s growing, but it is actually coming out to shed. Exfoliating and/or scrubbing gently in the shower with a loofa can help speed up the shedding process.

After 3 weeks, some patients may see small black dots remain in the hair follicles on some areas. These are commonly referred to as “pepperspots”, which eventually shed on their own. Exfoliating may help speed up the process. Regardless, they will be singed off in the following session.

Once the hair sheds, patients should experience a hair-free period for several weeks. Once new hair grows in, patients should come in for their next session. For most people and on most body areas, this happens about 8-12 weeks after the previous treatment.

  • What if I Merely Want to Reduce Hair Density in a Certain Area?

Yes. This can be achieved with 3-4 treatments instead of the full course of 6-8 treatments. To achieve an even reduction without patchiness, it is imperative to find an experienced laser operator who overlaps properly while covering the area and doesn’t miss spots. It’s also a good idea to wait at least 12 weeks between sessions in order to correctly assess the amount of reduction achieved at any point during the course of treatments.
